As someone who thrives on setting goals and building discipline, I’ve created two challenges designed to help people like me take control of their habits, push their limits, and embrace personal growth. The Starting Line
We all need a starting point, and this is where the journey begins. The Starting Line is a 60-day challenge that lays the foundation for creating healthier habits, building discipline, and focusing on personal growth. It’s not about perfection; it’s about consistency.
The Rules:
No Social Media: Completely eliminate distractions from all social media platforms to reclaim your time and mental clarity.
YouTube Only on Your Computer (Max 1 Hour): Use YouTube intentionally for learning or inspiration—no mindless scrolling.
Drink 3/4 to 1 Gallon of Water Daily: Stay hydrated to fuel your body and mind.
1 Hour of Exercise Daily: Move your body for an hour every day. This can be strength training, cardio, yoga, or any activity you enjoy.
No Fast Food, Soda, or Candy: Focus on whole, nourishing foods to support your goals.
Consume 1g of Protein per Pound of Body Weight Daily: Track your intake and prioritize protein for recovery and growth.
No Phone in the Bedroom at Night: Create a peaceful, screen-free sleep environment to improve rest.
Read 10 Pages Daily: Dive into a nonfiction or self-development book to learn and grow.
Spend 20 Minutes Outside Daily: Get fresh air and connect with nature to reset your mind.
Track Your Habits Daily: Use a journal or app to log your progress and stay accountable.
Miss a Day? Start Over:
Consistency is key. If you miss even one task on any day, you must start the 60 days over from the beginning. This rule is designed to help you build unshakable discipline.
Optional Rest Day Guidelines:
Every two weeks, you may take a rest day. Use this time to recover physically and mentally while staying aligned with your goals. Here are some guidelines to make the most of it:
Engage in Light Activity:
Opt for low-intensity exercises like walking, gentle yoga, or stretching to promote blood flow and reduce stiffness.
Prioritize Relaxation and Sleep:
Catch up on rest, practice deep breathing, or meditate to rejuvenate your mind and body.
Hydrate and Fuel Properly:
Stick to nutrient-dense meals and ensure you’re hydrated to aid recovery.
Reflect and Plan:
Take time to journal about your progress, challenges, and areas to improve.
Plan ahead for the next two weeks to stay on track.
Indulge Mindfully:
Enjoy a small treat or extra relaxation time without guilt, staying mindful of your overall progress.
The goal is to recharge and return even more motivated to tackle the challenge with renewed focus.
Why This Works:
The Starting Line is about taking control of your habits and breaking free from distractions. It’s a simple yet effective way to build momentum and prove to yourself that you’re capable of change. Once you’ve completed this challenge, you’ll have a solid foundation to tackle more ambitious goals.
Level Up
Once you’ve mastered the Starting Line, it’s time to take things to the next level with Level Up. This 30-day challenge is designed to amplify your discipline, focus, and resilience. It’s not just about maintaining your habits—it’s about pushing yourself further.
The Rules:
Maintain All Starting Line Habits: Everything from the Starting Line stays in place.
5-Minute Cold Shower Daily: Build mental toughness by embracing discomfort.
Complete 3 Critical Tasks Daily: Identify and accomplish three additional tasks that align with your personal or professional goals.
Reflective Journaling: Write 2-3 sentences each day about your progress, wins, and challenges.
10 Minutes of Visualization: Spend focused time visualizing your goals and the steps you need to take to achieve them.
Miss a Day? Start Over:
Just like the Starting Line, if you miss any task on any day, you must restart Level Up from Day 1. This rule ensures you remain fully committed to the process.
Why This Works:
Level Up is all about stepping out of your comfort zone and reinforcing the habits you’ve already built. The cold showers teach resilience, critical tasks drive progress, and visualization strengthens your focus on long-term goals. By the end of this challenge, you’ll have a sharper sense of purpose and a stronger mindset.
Why I Created These Challenges
Starting Line and Level Up aren’t just about ticking boxes or following rules—they’re about becoming the best version of yourself. For me, these challenges have been a way to cut through distractions, prioritize what truly matters, and prove to myself that I can accomplish what I set my mind to.
